All our coffees are 100% Arabica, generally washed (fully washed), from the last harvest and high sieving. Always freshly roasted.
WHAT TYPE OF ROASTING DO YOU OFFER?
At La Mexicana we roast every day in a traditional way, in small quantities, by hand and slowly.
There are two very different types of roasting: natural and roasted. At La Mexicana we recommend the natural roast to better appreciate the original nuances of each coffee, but we also have references with a percentage of roasted coffee for those who prefer a stronger and denser coffee.
Our natural roast: coffee and heat. We believe that good coffees should not be roasted too much, so we apply a medium roast to all our origins.
Our roast roast: coffee, heat and sugar. We use the same coffee as for natural roasting. At a specific point in the roasting process, we add a small percentage of white sugar to caramelise the beans, coating them and protecting them from oxidation.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO BUY A PACKET OF GROUND COFFEE?
Yes, you can select the type of ground coffee you need from the drop-down menu, although we recommend buying beans and grinding them before preparation so that the coffee retains all its properties. You can see all the grinding points here.
HOW LONG DOES COFFEE STAY FRESH AND HOW SHOULD I STORE IT?
The packages in which we ship our coffee are suitable for keeping coffee fresh by avoiding the three main factors of coffee ageing, which are light, humidity and air. As long as they remain unopened, your coffee will remain delicious for 60 days after roasting.
Once opened, we recommend using the coffee within 30 days. Coffee does not expire, it does not go bad, but it can lose properties such as aroma after a month, especially if it is ground.
Ideally, buy 250 g packets and open them only for consumption. Once opened, store your coffee in a cool, dry place, away from heat and light, and in its original packaging or in an airtight container.

We source and roast beans that have great versatility in many devices, so the method of choice depends on personal preference.

HOW DO YOU DECAFFEINATE YOUR COFFEES?
There are different ways to decaffeinate coffee. We opted for the one that best respects the original organoleptic qualities, altering the flavour as little as possible. In this process, the green coffee beans are immersed in water and then in a natural substance called ethyl acetate, present in many fruits such as strawberries and bananas, which removes the caffeine particles from them. Finally, they are washed in water and dried.
Our decaffeinated coffee is 100% Arabica and always certified 99.9% caffeine-free.
HOW CAN I PLACE AN ORDER?
The quickest way to place an order is to browse the website and locate the products you want to buy. You can do this in different ways:
Entering the name of the product in the shop search engine located in the upper area or by product category: within the main menus there are submenus with the categories that will take you intuitively to the desired product.
When you find the product you want, add it to the shopping cart. In the case of coffees, first choose the type of ground coffee you need.
Once you have all the products you want, go to your shopping cart and select "Checkout". If you are registered, you can log in or continue shopping as a Guest.
You will need to select your preferred shipping option and payment method. Finally, click on "Confirm your order" and you will receive an email with the order confirmation.
You can also call us by phone and we will help you with the process if you need it.
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT METHODS?
When you make an online purchase at La Mexicana, you can use the following payment methods:
- Credit/Debit Card
- PayPal
- Bank Transfer
- Payment in instalments with Sequra for our coffee machines.
WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?
We process all orders from Monday to Friday and they are sent by express courier (24 working hours), properly packaged.
Every working day all orders received before 12 noon are prepared and shipped with delivery scheduled for the next working day. For example:
- If you order from Monday to Thursday before 12:00 we prepare it on the spot and you will have your coffee the next day.
- If you order on Monday afternoon we will prepare it on Tuesday and you will receive it on Wednesday.
- Generally the longest delivery time is for orders placed on Thursday afternoon, which are prepared on Friday and received on Monday.
- Finally, if you order during the weekend (from Friday at 12:00), we will prepare it on Monday and you will receive it on Tuesday.
Remember that on public holidays in Madrid, where we roast coffee, we cannot prepare orders, and on public holidays in your town we cannot deliver.
WHERE DO YOU SHIP AND WHAT ARE THE SHIPPING COSTS?
We currently ship internationally.
For shipments to Portugal we work with MRW with a delivery time of 24-48 working hours. The shipping cost is 5,50€ up to 1,5 kg. From 1,5 kg up to 5 kg the shipping cost will be 6,50€. For shipments of more than 5 kg, the cost will be 8,00€.
For shipments to the rest of Europe we work with FedEX, the delivery time is 5 to 11 working days and the rates per country are as follows:
- For Andorra and Gibraltar, the shipping cost is 26€.
- For Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco and the United Kingdom, the shipping cost is €29.
- For Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Latvia, Poland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Romania, Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland, the shipping cost is €33.
The above rates are up to 10 kg, for heavier orders the corresponding costs will be applied directly in the shopping cart.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?
Orders are prepared quickly so it is important that you write to us as soon as possible so that we can get to you in time to cancel or make any changes to your order as once it is processed, we can no longer make any changes.
WHERE IS MY ORDER?
Once the shipment leaves our factory you will receive an email with the tracking number and all the necessary information to know at all times the status of your order.
If you see that your order is taking longer than usual, we advise you to contact us at atencioncliente@lamexicana.es indicating your order number.
CAN I RETURN PRODUCTS?
At Cafés La Mexicana, our priority is that you are satisfied and enjoy your coffee. Every day we roast our whole beans to order, so we cannot accept coffee returns. Therefore, we recommend that you check the type of grind before finalising your order.
In case you receive the wrong coffee from us, we will pay for the return shipping costs. To do so, please write to atencióncliente@lamexicana.es within 7 days of your purchase and we will tell you how to proceed.
Finally, you can exchange any non-perishable item you have purchased. Simply send us an e-mail to atencioncliente@lamexicana.es, giving us your order number, the items you wish to return and the reason for your return. We will then reply immediately with instructions on how to make the return.
MY ORDER ARRIVED DAMAGED; WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?
Send an email to our Customer Service team with your order number and a photo of the damaged item (along with a photo of the shipping box) so we can help you and inform our warehouse. We'll sort it out for you right away!
