The MOTTA Tamper you need

The professional coffee tamper with ergonomic handle is designed to forcefully press ground coffee to compress it and have it ready for your espresso machine. Handcrafted.

Tamping is how baristas compress ground coffee into a disc shape. The coffee is distributed as evenly as possible inside the portafilter, where the water and the coffee will come into contact during its preparation.

It is necessary to buffer because in an espresso coffee the ground coffee must be compacted so that the water absorbs all the properties of the coffee. In addition, tamping will create a small space between the top of the coffee and the place through which the water exits the machine.
